eLiquid Review 267: Cali Cola by Sticky Fingers

eLiquid Review 267: Cali Cola by Sticky Fingers

Today’s review is for an eLiquid that is a favourite among many, and perfect timing, as I have been in the mood for something like this for a while.

Here’s my third review of the Sticky Fingers range of Australian eLiquids.

Today I’ll be reviewing “Cali Cola”!

From the website:

A glass of refreshing Cola. Inspired by the streets of California. This is ADV material. A perfect Cola blend.

The Review:

As I’ve said many times before, Cola is a flavour that is difficult to get right. Over do it and you end up with a sticky thick mess of cola that turns to medicine and barely resembles the intended flavour. Under mix it and you get a flat cola that is lacking in texture, body and that unmistakeable fizz.

Often, a cola will be only that. A cola. Nothing else, just a percentage of cola concentrate mixed with a little PG/VG. Totally boring.

Thats definitely not the case here, “Cali Cola” is a sweet syrupy cola, with an added depth and dimension of hints of vanilla, citrus and an underlying fruit that I just can’t put my finger on.

Individual Notes

Cola typically consists of citrus fruits, and other various ingredients like nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla.
The popular flavour concentrates do a pretty good job of replicating this complex mix, but most just don’t have that punch of flavour to stand out from the rest.

“Cali Cola” is a high impact flavour which leads me to believe that “Sticky Fingers” have gone the extra mile and added extra nuances to enhance the basic cola and provide that extra something special for their customers.

I’m picking up extra citrus, some additional vanilla, and definately some sweetener.

This cola, rather than being the trademark rendition of everyone’s favourite cola with the red label, is more of a cola syrup like those that you’ll get at a fast food restaurant, or at the movies. It’s sweet, thick and has that unmistakeable syrupy taste that we all know so well. Having said that, it’s not the typical syrupy cola you get when mixing a basic cola concentrate only.

Sticky Fingers have gone beyond that and added some extra citrus, I’m guessing some additional lemon and lime, to brighten the vape, which is a really great move and picks this flavour up and lightens the texture.

They’ve added something else in here that also adds more depth, this time its in the lower notes. My closest guess is that they have added a touch of root beer, or something else that acts as a lower level nuance. Sometimes on a wet wick I could swear that there is another fruit added here. It’s not really noticeable, more of a supporting flavour in the base.

Inhale & Exhale

As with most colas, I pick up the familiar cola note on the inhale, leading out with the taller lemon and lime notes at the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale.

The exhale thickens up and is where the body appears. The vanilla and other lower notes are more noticeable here, blending with the sweetener and finishing off with a smooth, fruity and lightly fizzy sweet exhale.

Final thoughts

This is a really nice cola. I notice that it doesn’t have as much sweetener as I initially thought. My coils and wicks have not suffered too much, and that light burning sweetener taste is not present at all. It’s pure cola flavour.

Definately one for the summer months, if you’re looking for a lovely sweet cola vape, you should put this one on your list for sure.
