eJuice Review 122: Watermelon Crush by Silk Road Vapour

IMG_20161212_145047-01Dessert lovers, you’re in for a treat. This week I’ll be reviewing the Silk Road Vapour range of flavours, and many of them are bakeries and desserts!

Silk Road Vapour launched late in 2016, located in the outer suburbs of Sydney. They are mainly in the ejuice business, but do sell some other accessories on their site, like wick, wire, empty bottles and PG/VG.

Let’s get into them!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Watermelon Crush”.

You can pick up the Silk Road Vapour range from the their website @ http://www.silkroadvapour.com.au

From the website:

Crushed watermelon and ice! We have gone off the beaten track and added a touch of mixed berry syrup and a hint of peach, providing slightly more punch. Perfect for a warm sunny afternoon, very refreshing!

The Review:

This is an icy watermelon with a twist. Rather than push out ‘another’ Watermelon and menthol juice, of which almost every vendor has, Silk Road have mixed it up a little by adding some ‘mixed berry’ and ‘peach’, to create a unique blend that satisfies your icy watermelon craving all the while giving you some extra nuances to add a little complexity to one of everybody’s favourite profiles.

The watermelon is nothing out of the ordinary, Ive tried a few juices where the watermelon has been pretty similar. It’s not realistic, but its not candy watermelon either. It is sweet, juicy, and easily lost with the other flavours battling for the top spot.

The mixed berries, are sharp, tart and come through rather dominant. Not dominating the watermelon, but definately making just as large of an appearance.

The peach is the silent achiever here. You won’t notice it all that much, but I feel it adds a smoothing effect and helps the berries and watermelon meld together, acting as a bridge between the two flavours if you will.

The menthol. Finally, someone who doesnt drown their menthol flavours with actual menthol! Koolada is a really nice additive to use in order to get that cooling effect without having to use too much menthol and risk the entire flavour being dominated by the menthol taste. I’ve a feeling that both Koolada and menthol have been used here, to avoid just that.
The chill factor is quite cold with this one, not overbearing, but quite noticeable at the same time.

On inhale, it is instant watermelon. A slightly powdery but still juicy and sweet watermelon, paired with an equal amount of mixed berries and a menthol/koolada chill that start off faint, and that get more intense as the inhale progresses.

The exhale sees what started on the inhale intensify even more, with the watermelon melding fully with the berries and backing off a little, leaving a slight tartness behind.
When this happens theres a bit of a shift and you notice a slight peach nuance come through, smoothing out the tartness and finishing off the vape alongside the ever growing cool sensation of the menthol and koolada.

As mentioned before, this is quite the unique Watermelon mix.

If you’re keen on a bit of refreshing watermelon, berries and menthol, you wont be disappointed!
