eJuice Review 254: Kraken by Vape Monster

Vape Monster popped up a few years ago seemingly out of nowhere and with some really great flavours straight off the bat, which has earned them a faithful local following.

I thought I’d revisit and pick up one of their flavours that I haven’t tried before, so here goes!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Kraken”!

I did not receive this eliquid from the vendor. It is store bought.

The Review:

If you’re a dessert vapour you’re going to really get into this one. I’ve found that most of the vape monster flavours that I’ve tried, Ive loved, and this one is no different.

“Kraken” is a realistic and earthy strawberry backed up with a smooth combination of creams that provide a strong full body and a light sweetness for a really satisfying vape.

The strawberry in this is very much a strawberry ripe type of flavour. (The flavour apprentice). It’s earthy, has the unmistakeable seed nuance and is far from a candy or floral. The sharp tartness really does give off that real strawberry vibe.

Along with the strawberry this contains an additional 4 types of creams according to the description. To give you an idea of the balance of creams in here, this is my take on the 4.

1. Bavarian cream
2. Dulce de leche
3. sweet cream
4. Whipped cream

I’ve picked these four because this flavour has a quite a rich note to it (Dulce), it also has a light pastry feel (Bavarian), a sugary sweetness (whipped) and I pickup a little butric acid note also (sweet cream).

The inhale is mostly realistic earthy strawberry, with a touch of the sweet cream shining through.

The magic happens on the exhale where the strawberry intensifies with it’s tartness creating quite a sharp note, just before the other creams seamlessly blend in together to wash over the strawberry dousing the sharpness and smoothing the vape out. I first notice the Dulce de leche, and bavarian cream, before they lightly fade off allowing the sweet cream and sweet whipped creams to show through and finish off the exhale.

Another great dessert flavour from Vape Monster! Well done!

Presentation:

Great presentation here folks. I received a 30ml ready to vape in a clear plastic bottle with needle tip and child proof black cap. The labels are awesome and have a killer graphic of the Kraken (mythical sea creature) as a background image, along with logo, juice name and any other info you might need.

Test rigs:

Hadaly RDA with single SS coil @ 0.3 ohms on a bottom feed mod.
Kennedy RDA with dual SS coil @ 0.4 ohms on a regulated mod running 50-80 watts.
