eJuice Review 235: Hillside Custard by Silk Road Vapour

The first bunch of samples that I reviewed from Silk Road Vapour a while ago were great, I was very impressed with the flavour, quality, and nice consistency of flavour intensity from their line.

They proved themselves a professional outfit, skillful in their mixing as well as providing a top notch customer service with their fast shipping times and dealing with my many questions eloquently.

I’m very pleased to have some more of their range to review for you all, and this time, with some “You-Beaut” brand-spanking new labels!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Hillside Custard”!

From the website:

Not your everyday custard. Nothing tastes quite as good as rich creamy vanilla custard poured over a warm pudding on a winter’s night. This is our very own vanilla custard with a twist. We have added hints of butterscotch and caramel, providing a warm dense flavour. A winter favourite.

Steeping: Let this one steep for at least two weeks, the longer the better!

The Review:

Here’s one that many will be looking forward to. Most vendors have a flagship vanilla custard, and this is Silk Road Vapour’s!

“Hillside Custard” is a little more than your usual custard. It’s a smooth and creamy vanilla custard with splashes of caramel and butterscotch for a little more complexity and rich indulgence.

Thick and rich custards are one of my favourite flavour profiles, and the addition of the richness of caramel and butterscotch puts this custard right up there with the best of them.

Don’t get me wrong, this custard is rich, but not overly so. It’s not an in your face sickly richness, more of a lovely creamy vanilla with measured amounts of richness that keep this juice in check and very more-ish.

The inhale is all vanilla custard, not at it’s full intensity, but a lovely thick creamy custard none-the-less. It has an almost fluffy, marshmallow consistency.

The exhale sees the flavour increase and the fluffiness really come into its own. It’s at this point the caramel and butterscotch appear through the custard, with the caramel being the dominant of the two.

The butterscotch is quite light but still adds it’s fair share of buttery smoothness to the mix, whilst the caramel adds a nice thick syrupy texture that is a nice contrast to the creamy vanilla.

It all rolls up into one at the end of the exhale with a lush, rich flavour profile and a thick creamy texture that will keep you coming back for more.

Great work on this one guys!
