eJuice Review 268: Granny Smith by Sticky Fingers

eJuice Review 268: Granny Smith by Sticky Fingers

We’re up to the 4th review from Sticky Fingers today, and this one is something a little special. There aren’t alot of apple based flavours around, well not in the Australian market anyway, and more-over apple based flavours with something a little different, whilst not straying from their intended flavour profile.

Today I’ll be reviewing “Granny Smith”!

From the website:

The Sticky Fingers team’s favourite E Juice, it took us months to get this one right, and it paid off! Not your average apple. Fresh, Flavourful, Crisp Green Apples with subtle hints of summer. Tasty and refreshing.

The Review:

Sticky Fingers have been a little cheeky here, and hidden a flavour in here that you might not expect.
It doesn’t appear in the description and I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it is definitely there. There is simply no mistaking this flavour. At first I thought it was just myself that picked it up, but when prompted, my wife also admitted to tasting it too.

So what is “Granny Smith”?

“Granny Smith” is a delicious and juicy green apple flesh, with hints of cherry. Yes, cherry.

Individual Notes

The Green Apple here is spot on, it is juicy but also has that apple flesh dryish texture to it. I know, how can it be juicy and dry at the same time? Well the dryness is more of a texture on the palate than a physical dryness.
The apple is sweet, lightly tart, with a fleshy feel, no skin nuance here at all.

Now the cherry. You know that cherry flavour that you get in Cherry Cola, it is slightly medicinal, a little artificial and has that unmistakeable scent? Of course you do, you’ve probably smelled it and tasted it many many times. This is the cherry that I pick up in “Granny Smith”. Don’t take the words “medicinal” or “artificial” as a bad thing either.
This type of cherry works perfectly with the Green apple profile. It really does.

Think of it as the cherry being a light base note, while the green apple rides on high, providing a sharpness, a little acidity and lifting the profile as the vape goes on. It really is a great pairing.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is mostly sweet green apple with a hint of the cherry. The cherry is barely noticeable here, it is just a touch of a base note that compliments the apple perfectly. The apple is sweet yet tart and draws you in wondering what will come next.

At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale, the cherry picks up a little. Whilst still a base note and not at all a dominant flavour, it is stronger and you might notice it more than the inhale. The green apple wins in flavour intensity here, it is the same green apple as in the inhale, just a little more elevated. On the exhale the lower and higher notes seperate a little more really providing that contrast, and making this juice shine.

As with the inhale, the green apple’s sweet high notes drive the exhale home for a nice palate cleansing vape.

Final thoughts

I’d never thought that apple and cherry might work together, but they do, really well actually.
Sweetness, tartness and acidity with a little artificial cherry make for a delightful contrast and a flavour packed all day vape.

I have to admit I’m quite impressed by “Granny Smith” and havent wanted to change it out at all. I’ve actually delayed switching out to another flavour for an extra day, and have squeezed every last drop out of this bottle.

A job well done guys, very nice.
