eJuice Review 135: Grandma’s Dutch Apple Pie by Vaporfi and Cosmic Fog

IMG_20170114_131732-01So, Vaporfi have sent me some of their flavours to review. If you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know who Vaporfi is, they are a company based out of Florida in the USA that have had some success over the years with their rebranded hardware specifically focused on the beginner market.

As a result of this, they’ve accumulated a huge range of flavours, that have received quite a few glowing reviews. In particular, I hear that they have some pretty good tobacco based flavours. (Perfect for the beginners market).

There is a tonne more information I’d like to share with you about Vaporfi, all good things, I will leave that to my final wrapup piece though so as to not let this into get out of hand.

So let’s get into it!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Grandma’s Dutch Apple Pie”.

You can pick up the many juices in the Vaporfi range from the their website. Also Vaporfi have been kind enough to share a link with me so that my readers can get a discount. If you visit their site via the link below you will get 12% off storewide! So get on it and take a look at the Vaporfi website.

From the website:

Cosmic Fog and Vaporfi have come together once more to bring vapers a delicious and memory inducing vape juice. Experience the sugary sweet aroma of your grandma’s house, when a finger licking apple pie sat in the stove baking to perfection. No need to wait for the pie to cool; this dessert is ready for you to vape at a moment’s notice. A brilliant apple front note appears immediately filling the vaper’s tongue with subtle notes of pie crust and tart apple notes. While the vape juice matures to perfection, a burst of flaky crust travels meticulously to the back note leaving a scrumptious after taste.

The Review:

Here is the second juice that’s been released in the collaboration of the two juice titans, Vaporfi and Cosmic Fog, and what a flavour to finish my reviews up with!

This is quite a lovely version of everyone’s favourite, the homemade apple pie!
This juice ticks all of the boxes. It’s sweet, doughy, thick and smooth with pastry notes and a steamed apple decadence.

I have to admit the apple is not as prominent as I’d expected it would be. There is no tartness to it, instead it resembles more of steamed or boiled warm apples, almost apple sauce, rather than fresh chunky apples. Which, I suppose, fits quite well being a replica of a baked pie flavour. I wouldn’t exactly say that it’s a front note, but it is there all of the time but drifts in and out during the vape and has differing intensities at different moments.

The bakery notes seem to be two different nuances mixed together. The first is a Graham cracker note, which works nicely for the crunchy outsides of the pie. The second is more of a doughnut flavour, very doughy, and well representing the soft pastry found inside an apple pie.

On the inhale I get warm apple and doughnut nuances brushing past the tongue, in anticipation for the exhale.

Exhale sees everything ramp up a little in intensity and the Graham cracker come out to play, giving off that crispy pie vibe. All three notes mix together in unison toward the end of the exhale with a sugary sweetness rushing forward to leave a very sweet finish.

This one is a top notch dessert, and should definately be on your list if you’re putting in an order at Vaporfi.

Colour:

Honey colour

Scent:

Apple Pie

Coil damage:

This one did gunk my coils a little, and browned my wicks. There is some sweetener in this juice.

PG/VG Ratio:

30PG/70VG

Texture:

Thick creamy and bakery

Steeping:

Steeping is probably a good idea with this one.

Presentation:

Another greatly presented juice from Vaporfi. The 30ml bottle arrived in a box resembling the shape of a slice of apple pie, with apple pie graphics!, which carried the same branding and imagery for the flavour.
The bottle inside is black glass with a black childproof glass dropper, nice professional labelling with all of the information you could possibly want included on it. Even down to the nicotine warnings etc.

Test rigs:

Odis O-Atty with single ss contact coil @ 0.2ohms on a coppervape mod and/or Frankenskull clone.
Serpent Mini RTA with 0.6 ohm single Clapton at 30 – 50watts
